Surprising Turn Of Events of the Day: Rep. Chris Lee (R-NY) — who was outed as a possible philanderer by Gawker after they obtained a number of flirtatious e-mails from the married Congressman to a woman he met through Craigslist — has just announced he was resigning his seat, effective immediately.
“I regret the harm that my actions have caused my family, my staff and my constituents,” Lee says in his official statement. “I deeply and sincerely apologize to them all. I have made profound mistakes and I promise to work as hard as I can to seek their forgiveness.”
