Another TV Show Promo of the Day

May. 14, 2012

Mindy Kaling’s ditching the downward-spiraling Office for her own show, The Mindy Project, and based on the trailer, we can expect a much smarter, if not much savvier, version of Kelly Kapoor.

Kaling plays a professionally accomplished OB-GYN whose personal life is a hot mess; as her lovelorn character admits in the preview, she’s looking for a man with “the wealth of Mayor Bloomberg, the personality of Jon Stewart, the face of Michael Fassbender… the penis of Michael Fassbender.”

Oh, Mindy, the impossible quest…

J.J. Abrams — of Alias, Lost, and Fringe fame — is at the helm of Revolution, a new drama set in a post-apocalyptic world 15 years “after the lights went out” — or when a mysterious electromagnetic pulse threw humanity back into the 19th century, without cars, phones, or (gasp!) the Internet. Premieres this fall on NBC.

Aaron Sorkin TV Show Promo of the Day

Apr. 30, 2012

Trailer #1 for Aaron Sorkin’s new HBO drama Newsroom was delicious. Now that Trailer #2 has been released, June 24 can’t get here soon enough. With a cantankerous Jeff Daniels in mid-career meltdown and Sam Waterston in a wrangling role eerily similar to his long-running stint on Law & Order, this has all the makings of small-screen resurrection for Sorkin.
