Diss Song of the Day: The Roots made their displeasure with congresswoman Michele Bachmann subtly known on last night’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, playing the GOP presidential candidate on with a cover of Fishbone’s “Lyin’ Ass Bitch.”
Prior to the appearance, drummer Questlove tweeted a heads up to his followers: “Aight late night walkon song devotees: you love it when we snark: this next one takes the cake. ask around cause I aint tweeting title.”
The musical criticisms have become something of a Late Night in-joke, with Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt being welcomed to “Loser” by Beck, Ashley Simpson arriving on set to the sounds of a Milli Vanilli song, and staunch illegal immigration opponent Lou Dobbs making his way to the guest chair while “Illegal Alien” by Genesis played in the back.
“@questlove is grounded,” tweeted Jimmy Fallon. No word on what that means.
