BASE Jump Headcam Footage of the Day: Wingsuit madman Jeb Corliss has uploaded the full-length headcam footage from his infamously ill-fated Table Mountain BASE jump, and guess what: Still looks as painful as it did the first time around. (Although the Sunna soundtrack is a nice touch.)

Wingsuit Icarus of the Day: A month ago, wingsuit nut Jeb Corliss BASE jumped off Cape Town’s Table Mountain and nearly smashed into the ground.
This week, a snippet of footage from Corliss’s helmet-cam was shown during the Real Sports segment he was filming for.
Yup: Still looks pretty painful.
Asked to explained what went wrong, Corliss wrote in a Facebook post that he was simply flying too close, and messed up.

Lucky To Be Alive of the Day: World-renowned wingsuit flyer Jeb “The Birdman” Corliss survived a harrowing, 200-foot near-freefall after BASE jumping off Cape Town’s Table Mountain.
“He managed to release his emergency chute and we believe he would have died without it,” said Table Mountain spokesman Merle Collins.
The entire ordeal was caught on tape by an HBO camera crew.
This was Corliss’s second jump off the South African landmark. It was unclear what went wrong, but his jumping partner Joby Ogwyn suggested Corliss may have either hit a ledge or been a victim of the elements.
The daredevil is currently resting in a private hospital with two broken legs. “I saw him in the emergency room and asked whether I could release details of his condition,” said a spokesperson for the hospital. “He smiled at me and said ‘Tell them I feel the best I ever have’.”
Everybody Needs A Hobby of the Day: Human flying squirrel Jeb Corliss (previously) recently accomplished another one of his crazy goals: Jumping out of a helicopter 6,000 feet over Tianmen Shan (Heaven’s Gate Mountain) near Zhangjiajie, China, and threading himself through Tianmen Cave — a hole that formed naturally in the mountain.
This was Corliss’s second attempt, having experienced technical difficulties the first time around.
“That was one of the greatest wingsuit flights of my entire life,” Corliss said after landing. And if ever there was a man who knew a thing or two about great wingsuit flights, Corliss would be he.
