Early Bird Special

Apr. 18, 2012

Steve Kamb’s 120,000-mile, 16-country, 18-month adventure, “Exercising Around the World,” will inevitably be compared with the slick packaging of Casey Neistat’s #makeitcount stunt that went viral last week. It seems they ARE pretty similar… except for Steve’s utter lack of: feigned spontaneity at every turn; a regrettable tattoo; Nike sponsorship; a professional film crew… AND he got to live like James Bond for a weekend.

Steve, 1. Casey, 0.

Early Bird Special

Apr. 10, 2012

When Nike gave Internet video maker Casey Neistat a hefty advance payment and orders to #makeitcount, it’s unlikely this is what the company had in mind. Nicely done.

Social Experiment of the Day

Mar. 21, 2012

Internet video maker Casey Neistat returns to his roots with a reenactment of his infamous 2005 “bike thief” experiment, wherein he makes several blatant attempts to rob his own bicycle in public spaces throughout NYC.

Has stealing bikes in NYC become a more challenging endeavor in the past seven years? Spoiler Alert: Hahahaha no.

Scenes From A Raid of the Day

Nov. 16, 2011

Scenes From A Raid of the Day: New York-based filmmaker Casey Neistat (previously) works near Occupy Wall Street’s now-former homebase in Zuccotti Park.

When he learned of the imminent raid, he immediately grabbed his camera and headed down to capture the unfolding scenes. He ended up sticking around for 18 hours until the Park was finally reopened at 6 PM — and was one for the first to enter after the gates were unlocked.

This is what he saw, appropriately set to Frank Sinatra’s version of “Theme from New York, New York.”

Bike Lane Blues of the Day

Jun. 8, 2011

Bike Lane Blues of the Day: As we’ve seen, NYC cyclists don’t always respect the rules of the road. But, as New Yorker Casey Neistat makes painfully clear in this PSA, it’s hard to respect the rules when the rules don’t respect you.
