Hurricane Irene has claimed the lives of at least 25 people across 8 states, including 2 in Florida, and left millions without power for days.

    Above: Lady Gaga opened the VMAs as her male-model alter-ego Jo Calderone, delivering a gender-bending tour de force that caused Ralph Macchio to become a trending topic before launching into “Yoü and I” supported by Queen guitarist Brian May. (Also, this happened later on and was crazy awkward.)

    Teaser Trailer of the Day: Straight from the MTV VMAs, the first official clip from Gary Ross’s big screen adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ best-selling YA sci-fi novel, The Hunger Games.

    The film, which stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, and Donald Sutherland, is set to hit theaters March 23, 2012.
