Christmas Miracle of the Day: Brad Luddeke, a former volunteer firefighter who dresses up as Santa every year and delivers gifts to needy families, happened to be in his Santa suit when he came across a two-car accident in the Dallas suburb of Coppell.
The 52-year-old rushed to pull one of the drivers out of his mangled car and moved the other out of harm’s way before his burning truck exploded.
He then spent several minutes directing traffic near the scene of the crash until emergency crews arrived.
According to police, neither driver was seriously injured.
“I really just did what anyone would do in that situation,” Luddeke told Reuters. “I just happened to be wearing a Santa suit.”
