The husband, Antonio C, stumbled upon a series of letters his wife, Rosa C, received from her secret lover in the 1940s. He demanded a divorce, and is reportedly refusing to reconsider.
The couple, who share five children, twelve grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, have apparently experienced marital troubles in the past, with Antonio briefly moving out ten years ago.
