Back To Black of the Day

Back To Black of the Day: Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward took to the stage at the legendary Whisky A Go Go today to formally announce the highly anticipated reunion of Black Sabbath, which will include releasing the Rick Rubin-produced album they began working on over a decade ago.

Henry Rollins, who hosted the announcement ceremony, asked the band why they’ve decided to reunite. “It’s just time,” Osbourne said. “It’s now or never,” added Iommi. “We get along great. Everything’s really good.”

The band’s four original members are also planning a 2012 tour, and are scheduled to headline the Download Festival in June.

Asked about what fans can expect from the new Sabbath material, Rubin responded, “It’s really back to the old Sabbath style and sound.”
