MTV 2011 Video Music Awards Wrap Up

MTV VMAs Wrap Up:

Above: Lady Gaga opened the VMAs as her male-model alter-ego Jo Calderone, delivering a gender-bending tour de force that caused Ralph Macchio to become a trending topic before launching into “Yoü and I” supported by Queen guitarist Brian May. (Also, this happened later on and was crazy awkward.)

Beyoncé dropped a red-carpet bomb, announcing that she was pregnant and flashing a budding beybey bump.

Kanye West and Jay-Z took the stage to perform “Otis”; someone took the stage while Kanye West and Jay-Z were performing “Otis” to interrupt Kanye (skip to 1:52).

Adele made her VMA debut, performing the always mom-pleasing “Someone Like You” off 21.

Justin Bieber thanked not only God, but also Jesus.

Beyoncé performed “Love On Top” and took the opportunity to remind everyone that she’s pregnant.

Tyler, the Creator’s bonkers music video for “Yonkers” won him Best New Artist, fulfilling a lifelong dream he’s had for 11 years.

Russell Brand and Tony Bennett eulogized the late Amy Winehouse before introducing Bruno Mars who paid tribute to the singer with a cover of Winehouse’s cover of The Zutons’ “Valerie.”

Katy Perry and her cheddar cube hat took home Video of the Year for “Firework.”

As for the rest of it, this Justin Bieber screencap pretty much sums up the night:
