Everybody Needs A Hobby of the Day

Everybody Needs A Hobby of the Day: When Jacqui Lavis entered Curly’s tattoo parlor in 2003 looking to commemorate her post-divorce freedom with some symbolic ink, little did she knew she would end up falling for Curly and spending the next 8 years covering nearly every inch of her body with tats.

“Some are very nice while I get a lot of funny looks from other people,” Lavis says. “Some even tell me I look disgusting. But I am proud of my body, I see it as a work of art.”

Among her more cherished tattoos Lavis counts a swarm of dragonflies on her back, and a spiderweb full of tarantulas sprawled across her stomach.

RIP Society of the Day

Jul. 28, 2011

RIP Society of the Day

RIP Society of the Day: A rubber likeness of acquitted murder suspect Casey Anthony — dubbed “the most frightening mask on the planet” — was purchased through eBay by a user with nearly a million dollars to spare.

The mask — one of six used in a parody video — was posted on the online auction site this past Monday by an LA-based user named “prophunter,” with a starting price of $25. The cost quickly climbed as 104 bidders clamored for a chance at the questionable costume before the final figure was set at $999,900.

Meanwhile, Somalia.
