Look At This Swimming Cat of the Day

Jun. 27, 2011

Look At This Swimming Cat of the Day: One-year-old gray tabby Mog was left partially paralyzed following a hit-and-run earlier this year, and its owner feared he may never walk again. Flash forward a few months and Mog has regained use of his front legs thanks to swimming sessions in a hydrotherapy pool in Cornwall.

“He actually likes water,” owner Veronica told ITN News. “He’s always walked around the bath when I’m in the bath, he jumps in the sink, so I wasn’t really surprised that he did like the water, and I thought anything was worth a try.”

Movie Trailer of the Day

Jun. 27, 2011

Movie Trailer of the Day: Over the weekend, we got a low-quality look at the first official teaser trailer for Pixar’s next flick, Brave. Now the official first official teaser trailer is out, and we no longer need to duck behind theater seats at a Cars 2 screening to watch the animation studio’s first female protagonist be boss.

The film, which stars Kelly Macdonald, Julie Walters, Billy Connolly, Emma Thompson, Craig Ferguson, Kevin McKidd, and Robbie Coltrane, opens everywhere June 22, 2012.

How About That of the Day

Jun. 27, 2011

How About That of the Day

How About That of the Day: Former President Bill Clinton was a guest on NPR’s Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me! this weekend, and was inadvertently outed as a major My Little Pony fan during a segment called “Not My Job,” wherein knowledgeable people are asked about things they should have no knowledge of.

“So you’re a former president, you’re a Rhodes scholar, you’re famously well informed. What could we be sure that an accomplished person like you would know nothing about?,” host Peter Sagal asked Clinton rhetorically. “And then the answer came to us: the TV show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.”

One little snag: Clinton was able to answer all of Sagal’s questions correctly.

Turns out we already had our first Brony president, and didn’t even know it.

Public Transportation Altercation of the Day

Jun. 27, 2011

p>Public Transportation Altercation of the Day: A lady en route to Williamsburg on the B62 is asked by the driver to turn off her “cell phone boombox” or use headphones.

Turns out public transportation patrons who inconsiderately blast music through their smartphone’s speaker aren’t very well-mannered. Who knew?

(NSFW, inconsiderate language.)
