Cheaters Never Prosper of the Day

Jun. 28, 2011

Cheaters Never Prosper of the Day: One-man comedian cover band Jordan Paris auditioned for Australia’s edition of Got Talent as a stand-up with original material.

Slight snag, however: All the jokes were found to have been stolen from other stand-up comics.

Despite his admitted joke thievery, Australia’s Got Talent let Paris proceed to the semifinals, excusing his inexcusable behavior as not unlike singers covering songs. For his semifinal final appearance, Paris decided to change things up by writing his own jokes — about how he’s a joke thief.

Oh, you better believe things got awkward in a hurry.

Whoopsie Daisy of the Day

Jun. 28, 2011

Whoopsie Daisy of the Day

Whoopsie Daisy of the Day: Seattle’s thin blue line was left red faced after officers forgot a semi-automatic rifle on the trunk of their patrol car — and then drove around like that for quite some time.

A passer-by who snapped the above pic of the unattended AR-15 outside the Roosevelt Hotel brought it to the attention of bike officers who were reportedly “shocked as hell.”

“The department is very embarrassed that this happened,” said Seattle Police Department Sergeant Sean Whitcomb. “We’re incredibly grateful to the person that flagged down the bike officers and the woman who followed the patrol car around to let them know there was a rifle on the back of the car.”

According to Whitcomb the incident didn’t violate any laws, but “most certainly shouldn’t happen at a police department level.”

This Looks Shopped of the Day

This Looks Shopped of the Day

This Looks Shopped of the Day: To accompany Tina Brown’s rather exploitative article ostensibly honoring what would have been Princess Di’s 50th birthday with “what if” reflections on Diana’s Botox injections and Galliano couture, Newsweek commissioned a couple of rough sketches of what a 50-year-old Diana might look like now, if it weren’t for the whole being dead thing.

Surprisingly, some people have a problem with this.
