Lost Cat of the Day: Another day, another hugely popular viral video gets removed from YouTube: Just under two weeks since Rebecca Black’s “Friday” was taken down at the behest of Black and her legal team, it seems that that other nightmarish earworm, Nyan Cat, has also been unceremoniously scratched out, ostensibly by prguitarman, the creator of Nyan Cat’s progenitor, Pop Tart Cat.
Wha happen? Well, according to prguitarman, he did not file the copyright claim that took down everyone’s favorite rainbow-farting feline pastry. The LOL-COMICS! illustrator say he’s in the process of trying to get the video back up, but it’s proving harder than it should probably be. Up-to-the-minute updates on his efforts are posted to his website.
In the meantime, I am happy to report that both the original Nyan Cat page and the Nigel Thornberry remix (see below) are safe and sound.
