Paging Helen Palmer of the Day: When Olivia Riley felt a tug on her line, she fully expected to pull out a catfish.
But instead, what emerged from Kansas City’s Troost Lake was the biggest goldfish Riley had ever seen. “I was really amazed,” Riley told KMBC 9 News. “It was a beautiful fish, something to see up close.”
After she was done marveling at her once-in-a-lifetime catch, Riley promptly let the fish go. “It’s a pretty high bar for the rest of the fish,” she said. “I don’t think I’m going to top it anytime soon.”
