This Will Make You Physically Uncomfortable of the Day

This Will Make You Physically Uncomfortable of the Day: A woman who says she can no longer shut her eyes following a cosmetic procedure to correct a previous cosmetic procedure is suing her most recent plastic surgeon for negligence.

Dr. Paul Parker claims Marilyn Leisz was warned of the risks, but Leisz says she wasn’t specifically told that she was not a good candidate for the surgery due to her many previous procedures.

“All the favorite things I used to, like tennis, racquetball, swimming, horseback riding, bike riding, skeet shooting, gardening, I can’t do those things,” Leisz told CBS 2 News.

Louder Than Words of the Day

Mar. 30, 2011

Louder Than Words of the Day: A Westport Junior High student named Alye Pollack, who says she’s been bullied every day since the sixth grade, has taken to YouTube to express her misery by remaining poignantly silent.

In “Words are worse than Sticks and Stones,” a video reminiscent of the visuals for Dylan’s “Subterranean Homesick Blues,” Alye holds up placards that tell the story of a 13-year-old who is worn out by incessant emotional abuse. “I don’t cut. But I’m close,” reads one card. “HELP,” reads another.

Alye’s mother Courtney told a local news site that she only found out about the video after it was posted.

If you’d like to show your support for Alye and her cause, you can send her an e-mail at wordsdohurt@gmail.com.

Sightseeing of the Day

Mar. 30, 2011

Sightseeing of the Day

Sightseeing of the Day: Redditor InternetKing says he spent an entire summer in China photographing folks partaking in what he termed the “Chinese Shirt Roll” (AKA the “Beijing Bikini”). Apparently this fashion trend has become wildly popular in certain parts of Southeast Asia as well.

FWIW, I am 100% on board with this particular vogue heading west.
