Paging Robert McCloskey of the Day: The dash cam of a Ft. Myers PD cruiser captures the endearing moment officer Glenn Eppler blocked traffic to rescue a brood of stranded ducklings that had accidentally separated from their mother.
“This job, you never know what you’re going to see,” Eppler told WINK News. “I saw the baby ducks and thought of my daughter. She loves ducks. She’s ten and I could hear her in my ear saying, ‘get out and save those ducks’.”

He says “the plan is to insert a ‘Wattersonized’ version of her once she’s two or three (and we know what she looks like),” but I agree with Redditor hockymickle, who counters “I kind of like it with just Hobbes. It implies that she’s in Calvin’s role without having to draw her in there.”
