This Is Hilarious, You Must Watch It of the Day

This Is Hilarious, You Must Watch It of the Day: Comedian Joe Wengert kills — nay, genocides — at Dave Holmes and Rob Delaney’s‘s Mapping the Heavens show at UCB LA with the funniest frozen yogurt bit you will see today, guaranteed.

“It is my belief that this is the funniest thing that exists,” says YouTuber jacobreed. I am not easily given over to hyperbole, but that is the truest statement ever uttered.

I chuckled once or twice, but I didn’t find it hilarious… Maybe I’m just missing something.

  • Tinsley

This is the least funny thing ive seen in all my life. It wasn’t funny, I dont know why its on here. And I can’t understand why those people were laughing and why this is soooo funny. This is horrible possible the worst comedy ive seen in my life. I think id rather watch the movie salt or dare devil and those worry horrifying. But this just topped the list.

  • danny

yeah i didnt find this funny at all

  • logan

    am i missing something?

or are these guys on an 80 drink minimum?

  • strideranne

Waste of time – I thought i would stick it out to see if there was a punch line – but no – I want that 8.5 minutes of my life back.

  • Annie

Oh, thank goodness, I kept waiting for it to get hilarious and that didn’t happen, so I thought I was missing something. It was a little funny in places but I think there’s context that didn’t come through.

  • TheTruth

I agree. This was a huge piece of garbage. Nothing really funny about it, more pity laughs then anything. Even though the event this “comedian” was at only cost $5, I would have felt ripped off.

  • TheSandyClam

This was like a bad SNL skit. You know, the one that isn’t funny and lasts forever? Have you seen that one?

  • youngneil

I thought it was mildly amusing. I chuckled at the last chungbung punchline.

  • awkwardcool

    Trolled hard.

  • Shanon

Well there goes 8 minutes of my life I could have spent watching cat videos.

  • Dont Worry

The Internet: Where no one ever likes anything.

  • John

How is this funny? I kept waiting, but it kept on sucking.

  • Vince

Kept waiting for the funny. Didn’t happen.

  • Jimmy James

After reading these comments (there were none at the time), I’m glad I pulled the ripcord on this one after 45 seconds

  • Box

Wow, not ‘hilarious’ at all. Pretty everyday stuff, everyday delivery.

  • washere

So I get why it’s in your best interest to promote this type of humor as it references your memebase, etc. However, if you promote so enthusiastically, it REALLY needs to deliver funny. And it did not. It was okay, but it is not highest ratings material by any means. -Thanks again for your patronage. Be excellent to each other.

  • http://chizpimento.tumblr.com Chiz_Pimento

“funniest thing that exists” might be a bit of an over statement….

  • RobM

I giggled uncontrollably for the last 5 minutes of that. Sincerely. Thank you.

  • Jumbles

I thought it was quite amuzing but then I have a dry sense of humour

  • Bob Loblaw

I really liked this too. I guess RobM and I are the only ones?

  • Funny

Yeah, I didn’t find it too hilarious. He’s written for Funny or Die, so its probably some kind of lib inside joke or maybe the admin for thedailywh.at works at a yogurt shop? Waste of my time.

  • Gigantomachy

this. also, glad i started reading these comments 2 minutes in.

  • Funny

    Yeah.

  • http://www.ctrl-x.com.au ben

Loved the way he tied it together at the end. Not mindblowingly funny, but very good.

  • http://pambamboo.posterous.com/ Pamela Daley

Me three! In fact I wished the audience wasn’t laughing so hard so I could have heard it better. Hmmmmm……….maybe you have to be mature to see the humor in this. Just a thought.

  • boo,

I thought it was very funny, I think the readers of this site like to think of themselves as intellectuals that don’t laugh at funny words like “chungbung.”

  • WhiteSquare

The idea was excellent, in that it wasn’t some guy up there telling jokes to an audience. The delivery, jokes, etc. was absolutely not funny. I chuckled a couple of times, but this I’ve laughed more at Spartacus or Southland.

  • Tinsley

No you have to be stupid to think this is funny…..just a fact

  • KittyKatastrophik

I thought this was great. I’ve had a manager like this before & it made me regret not doing more things to drive him crazy.

  • bendemolena

That is exactly what I am doing right now. Thanks for the heads-up.

  • TheTruth

I’m going to go with 1) It’s not funny. 2) You and those that like it have no sense of quality humor or 3) You’re so immature you find this funny.

This really is lowbrow comedy. It basically takes every day occurrences and tries to make them funny by showing the “comedian” as an awkward individual.

  • Retlaw

I think you need to be really high to like this. You know, so high that soup cans are funny.

  • Eddie

The Office type humor. I don’t watch The Office, but my impression is that it is also not funny but also tries to appeal to this same sort of offbeat “smart” sense of humor. Soooooo, yeah, it sucked.

  • http://goo.gl/f4pXo julie

somebody needs a kick in the c*nt: http://goo.gl/f4pXo

  • NO NAME FOR YOU! (name nazi)

I wonder how many joints one would have to smoke to find this funny.

  • NO NAME FOR YOU! (name nazi)

    …chungbung.

Yup, that’s some super-mature humor right there.

Oh woah, elves! So mature. Your maturity is beyond me.

You are far beyond is *all*.

(I hope you’re not too stupid to pick up on sarcasm)

  • bunny

    ^^^This

  • HDW

Comedian: Everything that is up [on the cork board] is real weird.

    Audience: LOL!!!

Um… I had a chuckle or two because this actually portrayed an ex-boss pretty closely, but – I feel like I’m missing an inside joke, or that something as funny as hell is going on off-camera. I’m glad I’m not the only one, judging by these comments.

  • Raina

I feel like I should have found this funny, but I didn’t smile once. Eh.

  • leavinacomment

    indeed.

  • Justin

How do you not get it? You,… YOU are the manager of that yougart shop. It wasnt funny until I read the comments and realized that YOU (we) are the ones being fucked with. Metafunny.

  • ludditeandroid

Same here. I don’t get all the hate in the comments above.

  • alc

    *like

  • Andrew

Sounds like an inside joke of some sort…I didn’t laugh once…I didn’t even smile. Maybe I’ll watch it again when I’m drunk out of my mind and on acid, I might get one giggle then, or it will turn into even more of a nightmare.

  • Sev

Fan of Brit humour…this is just…meh. Beyond meh actually. Not even a teeny bit funny.

  • lilly

accourding to a youtube comment its supposed to be ” a metaphor for the entire internet told through frozen yogurt”. did anyone get it? i totally missed the humor/metaphor.

  • wc

this is a fantastic comedy routine. Alot of you might not get the humor since it has to do with WORK. and most of you are probably jack offs at home who is in high school.

  • RB

    didn’t find it funny.
maybe they’re classic yogurt-factories internal jokes, but unfortunately i don’t work at yogurt factories.

  • No

    agreed. this isn’t funny

  • Valerie Z

It’s a good monologue, but I didn’t get the “metaphor for the internet” thing at first. If most commenters aren’t getting the metaphor I’d say the metaphor isn’t clear enough. And even watching it with that in mind it was more “how clever!” than “laugh out loud funny”. But then comedy monologues are much better in person when you have the mood of the whole audience and most of them are drunk.

  • lolwut

Um, judging by the grammar and sentence structure of your comment… looks like you never even made it to high school.

  • Marximus

The Office is a lot funnier. I didn’t even smile.

  • Chris in Ca

    Lame

  • Sophie Noir

    Come on, this was amusing.

All you haters need to crawl out of your respective mother’s basements and (a) get a life, (b) lighten up and (c) stop being mean just to make yourselves feel better.

And, I’ll give you another example….

  • motchi

This is not Brit humour!! Pure awful is what it is.

  • Cait

Yeahhhh…I made it to 1:40 and raged raged raged.

    Somebody be trollin on me.

  • Decepticon

I want my 5 minutes back…since that’s about all I could make it through. I really tried to see some sort of humor, but found none. This is about as awkward as an inside joke between a group of people and you’re the only one who doesn’t get it.

  • Decepticon

Heh, I didn’t get any metaphor for the internet either. I was waiting for the “picture of him with a little league team” to be followed with his head posted on a pedo bear. But it never came.

  • alc

    more like “this-is-not-hilarious-why-bother-to-watch-of-the-day”…

wait.. is he one of your friends??

  • yclept

    fail your

  • POPDATSHIST

    This is funny.

  • Tinsley

Is that what you did? Cause it looks like it made you stupid if doing that made you like this

  • jk

He needs to team up with that guy that repeats everything he says, and that French guy dressed up as Mario. Then they should tour someplace where they don’t allow video cameras in to the performance.

  • lewarcher

It was okay; I laughed a few times, but it probably would’ve been funnier watching with some friends.

I also tried to put meaning on it in the beginning (“Elves? What’s that supposed to mean?”), but gave up and enjoyed it more after that.

  • http://www.facebook.com/winkwestwood Marcus

I found it funny…The reason I found it funny was it’s setup for a workplace type of environment… i’ve actually gone thru something this similar while working when my supervisor went through explaining the use of a suggestion box…this is typical office humor but it was executed beautifully, imo

  • HumorisRare

I found it sort of amusing. Kind of a “smirk here or there” kind of thing. I’ve had bosses much like this, so I can see it. I also remember not getting the little stunts other teenagers my age pulled on my managers years ago. Guess I’m an old fart, even when I was young. heh

  • Froggy

This. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean somebody else might not. And they’re not stupid for liking it, they’re just different. Me? I could take it or leave it. I could, however, see why some other people might think it’s the greatest thing in the world.

  • Kelly

I thought I was missing something too. Turns out EVERYONE here thinks this is total crap. It wasn’t even a little funny: “Hey, here’s some things that should be on a corkboard & some things that shouldn’t.” I think the audience at this thing was high, cuz I can’t understand that many people laughing at this turd.

  • MEH

i thought the title “you must watch this” would lead me to something side splitting or even small chuckle inducing. i was wrong.

  • Teh_Shard

I thought it was pretty damn funny…

  • Jen in NY

I actually loved it a lot. I think the premise is great for a stand up routine–acting as if you’re addressing a staff meeting. The writing was really tight, and the delivery was strong. It’s not a metaphor for the Internet–that’s just some comment someone made on YouTube.

  • Hobblescotch

    I thought it was funny.

  • notveryfunny

This was not funny at all. I understand the internet references, but if you have to think hard about the funny part to understand what makes it funny, then it is not funny. It ruins the delivery. It’s like telling a joke and then explaining why it’s funny when no ones laughs. Don’t get upset and call people haters for not liking this, they’re just being honest. Besides, ragging on shit is what the internet is for.

  • Jo

    Wow…..

  • youallsuck

Here’s the thing- I never comment on anything on the internet so this means i have a very strong opinion right now. Why are you all such arrogant douches? This is funny. If you didn’t think it was funny, I don’t think you’re a good person.
You’re probably not stupid, or you at least believe you’re smart..which is another topic…but you’re definitely not the kind of person who deserves an opinion. It’s actually not because you didn’t find it funny. It’s because you insulted me- the person who found it hilarious- for absolutely no reason.

  • JohnDoe

I have no idea what everyone’s not seeing, my cheeks were hurting at the end. If you think the immaturity of chungbung or elves is the point then you don’t get it

It wasn’t the funniest thing I’ve ever seen, but it was a riot

  • I have seen funny. This is not it.

  • http://www.disqus.com Dr.Krane

    didn’t nary a giggle.

  • squid

    One word: suxx.

  • whatevs

The only defense people who like this can give is “it was well written” or “the premise is great”. Yeah that may be true, but there is no way in hell it was “hilarious”. I’ve been stuck in part-time hell for most of my life and I get what he’s trying to do but it really honestly was not funny. I’m fairly certain we all got trolled.

  • Jen in NY

Humor is subjective, so you may not have found it funny, but I and others found it hilarious. Just like I find old Woody Allen short stories hilarious, and you may not. Just like I find the Onion hilarious, and you probably don’t. Just like I find the Comedy Death Ray podcast hilarious, and you most certainly don’t. Just like I find Ricky Gervais hilarious, and maybe you’re more of a Mark Russell man. It’s cool–there’s a place for “Three and a Half Men” in the world, clearly, even if it’s not in my world.

  • Joey McDicken

I don’t understand. This is absolutely not funny at all. I didn’t laugh once.

  • 0thron

i like to be pretentious over the internet

  • Anonymous

must be some inside joke, I didn’t get a single thing (except that he says “I’ll give you an example” a lot)

  • lolz

    +1

  • lolz

I came in with a positive attitude, and didn’t think it was funny, I’m not trying to make myself feel better, and I don’t live in a basement.
