Can You Hear Me Now of the Day: No more bulky satellite phones for intrepid Everest scalers. The Nepali telecom firm Ncell announced yesterday that 3G service is now available at the base camp of the world’s tallest mountain, and proved it by conducting a video call from 17,388 feet above sea level.

“This achievement is as mighty as the altitude as 3G high speed internet will bring faster, more affordable telecommunication services to the people living in the Khumbu Valley, trekkers, and climbers alike,” Lars Nyberg, the CEO of a Nordic mobile company which owns 80% of Ncell, was quoted as saying.

Up Next: @The_Singing_Sherpa: “Made it to the top. Again. Wish I was home playing Fallout.”
