Buy This: Dadahack’s TAP3 is half audio cassette, half MP3 player, and half bad at math.

Add songs via USB. Plug in your headphones to use as a portable media player. Stick the TAP3 into a standard tape deck to use as an ordinary cassette.

Click here to watch the TAP3 in action.

Giant Baby of the Day: Spain’s big deal at this year’s Shanghai Expo will be an enormous animatronics infant (watch it move) named “Miguelín,” which was designed by the special-effects team that gave horrible, horrible life to Starship Troopers and Alien vs. Predator.

According to the exhibit description, the 21-foot baby “dreams with the cities that we will leave to future generations.” I have no idea what that means, but LET’S NUKE IT FROM ORBIT IT’S THE ONLY WAY TO BE SURE.

Buy This: Kaoiro Japanese emoticon stamp from Japan Trend Shop.

For grading students in your anime appreciation class, confusing the heck out of your favorite librarian, or simply having the hippest stamp in town, you need the Kaoiro. Although it looks like a standard date stamp at first glance, the dials actually stamp out over 2000 different Japanese “kaomoji” (emoticons), face symbols popular to use in cellphone emailing.

Where is your kami now?

Buy This: Temperature-sensing mug from Art Lebedev Studio.

I can’t tell if the “battery life” dwindles as the drink become colder, or if the image disappears once the drink temperature drops below 36 degrees Celsius, but, either way, if want to purchase the latest cool-looking-but-ultimately-pointless contraption from Art Lebedev, this is it.
